Working at CTIS

Capital Tokyo International School (CTIS) opened in April 2022 with cohorts of grade one, three, and four students, and since August, we have been an IB PYP candidate school. We will soon apply to be an IB MYP candidate school as well. In April 2023, our middle school will open, and we will be able to accept students from grades one to seven, grade eight students from 2024, and grade nine students from 2025. Other plans include opening a high school in a different location for grades ten to twelve, which will offer the IB Diploma Program, and starting a kindergarten from April 2024 based in Shibuya. To summarize, by 2028, CTIS should be a K-12 school offering at least three IB programs.

As an expanding school, we are always happy to hear from teachers who want to join our hard-working, positive and proactive team, which is growing and diversifying all the time. We are especially interested in hearing from licensed professionals with IB experience and training. Postgraduate degrees, especially in a related field such as education or TESOL, and some ability to work in Japanese are also desirable qualities. In addition to the obvious professional development and career progression opportunities that come with working for a new, ambitious school, we offer a highly competitive salary, several extended vacation periods, and class sizes that will not exceed twelve students. We also provide staff with freshly brewed coffee every day as well!
